24-bit audio now supported by all CEDAR for Windows systems
Upgrades FREE OF CHARGE to existing owners

CEDAR ProDSP board

21 November 1997

CEDAR Audio is proud to announce that, with immediate effect, new CEDAR for Windows systems will support 24-bit AES/EBU digital I/O. This development, made possible by the latest developments on CEDAR's proprietary ProDSP/C and ProDSP/E boards, brings all CEDAR's current ranges of Audio Restoration products into the 24-bit domain.

An upgrade from 20-bit to the latest specification will be made available FREE OF CHARGE to existing owners of CEDAR for Windows systems.

Bill Lacey, who runs two CEDAR for Windows systems at Digital Sound and Picture in New York, supports CEDAR's beta test site in the USA. He said, "My first CEDAR System, installed in 1993, was merely 16-bit, but it still achieved results that I could not obtain elsewhere. I later upgraded this to the 20-bit CEDAR-20 Production System, and then in 1995 added a second PC-based System to allow me to run two of the older DOS-based processes simultaneously. CEDAR for Windows allowed me to run up to eight real-time stereo processes simultaneously in a single PC, but I could still only do so with 20-bit resolution. Now, with the latest DSP boards supporting up to 16 channels of real-time processing, or eight stereo processes, all with 24-bit accuracy, there is nothing that can touch CEDAR."
