CEDAR Trinity listening post

CEDAR Trinity is engineered to scale to a large, multi-user system and, in principle, there is no limit to the number of Satellites that can be connected to a CEDAR Trinity Recorder. Furthermore, the Recorder is designed to record indefinitely, and the number of audio streams that can be recorded and the amount of audio storage available is limited only by the capabilities of the host hardware. This makes it possible to install large, distributed CEDAR Trinity systems that allow numerous users to access the assets held on the Recorder (or multiple Recorders).

Sometimes, it will be desirable to allow some operators to work on particular live streams or assets, while others have access to different streams and assets. Again, this is no problem. The system administrator can decide which operators have access to which assets so that multiple teams can work on multiple projects within a single system. This means that, for example, your translator can't accidentally stop someone else's recording taking place, and one team's audio is not available to the other teams, so projects remain completely independent and confidential.

All of this makes it possible for some operators to be monitoring different audio streams (with or without enhancement), some to be checking events of possible interest in the past, others to be adding notes and transcribing, and yet others to be exporting audio and notes in common formats (WAV and CD) to send to other parties, all taking place without interrupting the incoming audio or affecting the recordings being made on the Recorder. Of course, all of the operators have access to CEDAR's world class processing, and CEDAR Trinity Off-line systems can be used alongside Satellites to provide additional facilities for reviewing audio and performing transcription and similar tasks.
